We were delighted to be invited to Elastic Arts in Chicago for the CLEAT Listening and Performance Series by Stephan Moore to celebrate the release of our third album Live from the Davis St. Drawing Room with Carrier Records. Returning to Chicago was especially important to us as the album was recorded in Chicago through a performance at Anne Wilson’s Davis Street Drawing Room project, after which the album is titled.
We continued working with the bobbin-lace and live-electronics techniques originally developed at the Davis Street Drawing Room, this time adapting it to the unique multi-channel spatial configurations offered at CLEAT. It was especially delightful to hear the sound of bobbins and little noise bursts skittering across the ceiling through their 16-channel system.
